Caroline’s Personal Statement
The farm where I live overlooks the Wenlock Edge and provides much of the inspiration for my work, whether it be the terriers in my kitchen or the hares in the field. I use elements of the landscape around me as a setting for many of my characters and I hope I convey the joy and entertainment that my subjects give to me.
I work in several media, but I love the illustrative quality that lino and woodcuts give my work. I also make felt pads from the wool of my sheep and draw on them with the sewing machine and afterwards apply them to cushions. I will undertake commissions; a pet portrait in pencil or pastel, or even a cushion!
